| Korea is a geographic area, civilization, and a former state situated on the Korean Peninsula in East Asia. It borders China to the west and Russia to the north, with Japan situated to the east. The Korean Peninsula is divided into two separate states, North Korea and South Korea. Between its initial unification in the 7th century – from three predecessor Korean states – until the 20th century, Korea existed as a single independent country. The population of Korea is approximately 49,232,844. The population density of it is 328.48/sq km. It has a population growth rate of 0.371%. Most of Korea's people belong to Christian religion. The official and most common language of those people is Korean. It has only Homogeneous people accept 20,000 Chinese people. Since the 1960s, South Korea has achieved an incredible record of growth and integration into the high-tech modern world economy. Four decades ago, GDP per capita was comparable with levels in the poorer countries of Africa and Asia. In 2004, South Korea joined the trillion dollar club of world economies.
